H.E. Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Minister of Interior Affairs- IEA, met with Mr. Takayoshi Kurumaya, Ambassador of Japan, in Kabul.

The meeting was held on the occasion of Ambassador Kurumaya’s completion of his mission. H.E. Haqqani praised Ambassador Kurumaya’s diplomatic service during his tenure and his efforts to further strengthen interaction between the two countries. H.E. Haqqani stated: “The relations between Japan & Afghanistan are very longstanding & Constructive engagement has always prevailed between the two nations.”

Ambassador Kurumaya described the progress achieved in security and other areas as encouraging, and he expressed hope for a brighter future for the Afghan people. He further said: “Japan will continue its assistance within the framework of the United Nations in the areas of alternative livelihoods, the fight against narcotics & the treatment of addicts.”
