Security Forces Seize Weapons and Ammunition in Paktia

Security forces, during an intelligence-based operation in the Nari Chena village of Dand Patan district, Paktia province, discovered and seized 8,000 rounds of MP ammunition, 12 grenade rounds, and 500 rounds of DShK ammunition that had been hidden by smugglers in a secure location. In a separate inspection at the Khost Bridge highway checkpoint, security personnel also recovered five pistols and 50 rounds of ammunition for the weapons.
According to preliminary information, the weapons and ammunition were intended to be smuggled from Afghanistan into Pakistan, but were intercepted and confiscated by security forces before they could be transported.
No arrests have been made so far. However, security officials stated that intelligence sources have identified the individuals responsible. They added that the suspects will be arrested after the investigation is completed and dealt with in accordance with the law.
