Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics Visits Paktia and Paktika Provinces
Al-Haj Sheikh Abdul Rahman Munir, Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics of the Ministry of Interior Affairs, accompanied by his delegation, paid an official visit to Paktia and Paktika provinces, where they met with local officials to discuss efforts to combat the scourge of narcotics and provide assistance to those in need.
During separate meetings, the Deputy Minister praised the achievements of the local authorities in both provinces and spoke about the harmful effects and religious prohibition of cultivating and using narcotic substances in light of Islamic Sharia.
He also emphasized the importance of collecting and treating drug addicts, as well as addressing the issue of beggars. He stressed that professional beggars should be identified and distinguished from genuinely needy individuals so that proper assistance can be provided to those who truly deserve it, while professional beggars should be dealt with in accordance with the law.
