28 Arrested for Drug Trafficking and Sales; Drug Production Facility Discovered in Kabul and Kandahar

Counter-narcotics police forces, during several separate operations, arrested 28 individuals in connection with drug trafficking and sales in Kabul Province. The suspects were apprehended along with 1,243 intoxicating tablets and more than three kilograms of opium.
Meanwhile, a drug processing and production facility was discovered and destroyed in the districts of Maywand, Spin Boldak, and Ghorak of Kandahar Province. The operation also resulted in the seizure and burning of more than 8,000 kilograms of yama and other raw materials used in drug production.
