Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics Visits Nangarhar Province

The Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics, Al-Haj Sheikh Abdul Rahman Munir, along with his accompanying delegation, traveled to Nangarhar Province.
During the visit, he met with Haji Mullah Mohammad Naeem Akhund, the Governor of Nangarhar, the Head of Intelligence, district governors, police commanders, intelligence directors, precinct officers, and a number of other officials.
In his remarks, the Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics stated that, based on the verbal directive of the Amir-ul-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), he had traveled to Nangarhar. The purpose of the visit was to prevent the cultivation of poppy and other narcotics, as well as their trafficking, trade, and use. In this regard, he instructed the relevant officials to take serious and decisive measures.
He also advised officials to hold meetings with respected religious scholars and tribal elders in their respective areas and to once again carry out public awareness campaigns among the people to prevent narcotics-related activities.
During the meeting, officials of Nangarhar Province assured full cooperation in the implementation of all decrees and orders of the Amir-ul-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), particularly with regard to preventing the cultivation, trafficking, and sale of narcotics.
