Illegal Cutting of Green Trees and Timber Smuggling Prevented in Kunar Province

Personnel of the Forest Protection Unit of the Kunar Provincial Police Command have carried out monitoring and control measures in several districts of the province to prevent the illegal cutting of green trees and timber smuggling.
As a result of these measures and operations, two individuals were arrested while illegally transporting timber in a vehicle loaded with valuable wood.
Shams-ul-Haq Sarhadi, Commander of the Forest Protection Unit, said that the unit’s personnel are working day and night to protect Kunar’s forests and green resources from illegal logging and destruction and to prevent timber smuggling.
