Further Fire Damage Prevented in Kabul’s Mandawi Market
Personnel of the General Directorate for Disaster Response and Firefighting of the Ministry of Interior Affairs responded swiftly to a fire that broke out due to an electrical short circuit in Zardad Market, located inside Kabul’s Mandawi area.
As a result of the fire, financial losses estimated at nearly 8 million Afghanis were incurred. However, firefighters successfully prevented the spread of the blaze and saved goods and property worth more than 480 million Afghanis in the shops and warehouses of the market.
The General Directorate for Disaster Response and Firefighting continually strives to prevent incidents and protect the lives and property of citizens. All fellow citizens are requested to observe safety measures and regulations in their shops, warehouses, markets, and homes, and to cooperate with the relevant authorities in this regard.
