Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics Meets Ambassador Suhail Shaheen in Doha
Sheikh Mohammad Qasim Khalid, Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics, met with Suhail Shaheen, the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate in Qatar, at his office.
During the meeting, Mr. Khalid welcomed the Ambassador and stated that the cultivation, sale, and trafficking of narcotics in the country have now reached zero, and that serious efforts are underway to eliminate this phenomenon completely.
Ambassador Shaheen praised the strong stance of the Islamic Emirate against drugs, describing it as one of the major achievements of the current Islamic system.
He added that the Islamic Emirate had promised to eradicate drug cultivation, sales, and trafficking — a promise that has now been fulfilled. He further emphasized that it is now the responsibility of the international community to take the lead in assisting with drug rehabilitation programs and providing alternative livelihoods for farmers.
