The Acting Minister of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, H.E. Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, met with the Interior Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Syed Mohsin Naqvi, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was also attended by the First Deputy Minister of Interior, Mawlawi Muhammad Nabi Omari; Deputy Minister for Security, Mawlawi Muhammad Ibrahim Sadr; Deputy for Counter-Narcotics, Abdul Haq Hamkar; Deputy for Public Protection, Mawlawi Sayedullah Hamas; as well as several other officials.

At the outset, H.E. Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani welcomed the Pakistani delegation led by the Interior Minister and described such visits as valuable for expanding bilateral relations and fostering grounds for improved cooperation between the two countries. He emphasized that trust is the key to resolving issues and added that every problem can be solved through the creation of an atmosphere of mutual confidence.

H.E. Khalifa underscored the importance of ensuring respectful treatment and necessary facilitation for Afghan refugees and detainees.
He added, “We are two neighboring Muslim nations with many shared values; we have ample reasons to build a strong foundation for positive engagement.”

The Interior Minister of Pakistan highlighted the importance of bilateral cooperation in the areas of security and counter-narcotics, and pledged to strengthen joint efforts in these fields.

Mr. Syed Mohsin Naqvi further stated that necessary facilities would be provided for traders and the general public, and he committed to working jointly toward resolving shared challenges.
