75 Kilograms of Opium Seized in Takhar

Counter-narcotics personnel of the Ministry of Interior Affairs intercepted an attempt to smuggle 75 kilograms of opium in the Khataiyan area near Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province. Two individuals were arrested during the operation after the drugs were discovered hidden inside a “Fielder” vehicle.

The detainees are currently under police investigation and will be handed over to judicial authorities upon completion of the initial inquiry.

It is worth noting that prior to this operation, over 112 kilograms of opium had also been seized by the provincial Counter-Narcotics Department in Takhar.
