Coordination Meeting Between Local Government and Media Held at Herat Police Command

A meeting aimed at expanding coordination and strengthening cooperation between the local government of Herat and the media community was held at the headquarters of the Herat Police Command.
The meeting was attended by Al-Hajj Sheikh-ul-Hads Naqibullah Azizi, Police Commander of Herat; Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior; Qari Najibullah Ali, Security Chief of the Herat Police Command; Shamil Ahmad Mashal, head of the Journalists’ Safety Committee; media representatives, journalists, and other local officials.
The Herat Police Commander described the role of the media in society as important and influential, emphasizing the need for journalists to uphold honesty, integrity, responsibility, and Islamic and national values in carrying out their professional duties.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior spokesperson spoke about the ministry’s activities and achievements, stating that the ministry stands fully alongside journalists and media outlets and that journalists can access information through provincial spokespersons. He called on media outlets to work toward raising public awareness and informing public opinion by publishing accurate, responsible, and constructive information, and to stand against malicious propaganda.
Shamil Ahmad Mashal, head of the Journalists’ Safety Committee in the western region, appreciated the cooperation of Herat Police Command officials with the media and said that coordination between officials and the media community has improved compared with the past. He added that journalists are also committed to carrying out their professional responsibilities within the framework of the principles and regulations of the Islamic system.
Other local officials and representatives of journalists also spoke at the meeting, emphasizing greater coordination to address challenges and facilitate journalists’ professional activities.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on strengthening mutual relations, enhancing coordination, and creating opportunities for effective cooperation between officials and the media.
