Large Amount of Foreign Currency Seized at Hairatan Port

Security forces at Hairatan Port seized a large quantity of foreign currency during the inspection of a passenger vehicle. The cash had been skillfully concealed inside the vehicle in an apparent attempt to smuggle it illegally.

The seized currencies included 343,725 euros, 20,480 U.S. dollars, 78,585 Canadian dollars, 59,900 Australian dollars, 14,750 New Zealand dollars, 313,050 pounds sterling, 42,550 Swiss francs, and 600,000 Saudi riyals.

The money was being transported illegally for smuggling purposes. Following its seizure, the funds were handed over to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings.
