Minister of Interior Affairs, Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, H.E. Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani met with Pakistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Ishaq Dar, along with his accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, H.E. Khalifa welcomed the Pakistani delegation warmly and considered their visit a significant development due to the signing of the agreement on assessing the feasibility of the Trans-Afghan Railway between Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Uzbekistan. He described the agreement as a foundational step toward expanding economic, commercial, and transit relations among the three countries.
H.E. Khalifa highlighted the shared values, religious and cultural ties, historical relations, mutual cooperation, and joint economic opportunities between the two countries, emphasizing that these commonalities should become the basis for practical collaboration.
Mr. Ishaq Dar described the feasibility agreement for the Trans-Afghan project as a major advancement and stressed the importance of strengthening historical ties, good neighborliness, and improved relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He also expressed hope for continued and constructive cooperation between the two countries in the areas of trade, transit, security, and political understanding.
