56 Pressure Mines Discovered, Defused, and Destroyed Near the De Facto Border

The Engineering Team of the Kunar Provincial Police Command discovered, safely defused, and destroyed 56 pressure mines and 12 mortar rounds while conducting explosive ordnance clearance operations in the Shonkari Valley, located in the border area of Sarkano District near the de facto border.
Qari Sibghatullah, head of the engineering team, said the mines posed a serious threat to the lives of both people and animals. He added that they were safely neutralized and destroyed to enhance security in the area and protect local residents.
He further stated that the engineering team is committed to gradually clearing all areas contaminated with mines and other unexploded ordnance in order to safeguard the lives and property of the public and prevent potential accidents.
