Al-Hajj Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Munir Introduced as New Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics of the Ministry of Interior

Al-Hajj Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Munir was introduced as the new Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics of the Ministry of Interior.

The introduction ceremony was attended by Al-Hajj Mawlawi Mohammad Nabi Omari, First Deputy Minister of Interior; Al-Hajj Mullah Abdul Haq Akhund, Administrative and Financial Deputy of the Ministry of Public Works; Al-Hajj Mawlawi Obaidullah Sadiq, Head of the Military Court of the General Directorate of Intelligence; Al-Hajj Mawlawi Abdul Rahim Saqib, Senior Advisor to the Ministry; ministry directors, and a number of officials and staff members.

At the beginning, the First Deputy Minister of Interior delivered remarks, praising the performance of the former deputy. He stated that rotation and reassignment are fundamental principles of the Islamic system and wished success to the newly appointed deputy.

Mr. Omari noted that since the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, extensive and effective measures have been taken to gather and treat drug addicts. According to him, the level of drug cultivation has been reduced to nearly zero.

The newly appointed Deputy Minister for Counter-Narcotics then delivered his speech, describing the fight against narcotics as a religious and Islamic duty. He called on the Mujahideen and relevant officials to cooperate in efforts to combat drugs.
