A Large Cache of Weapons and Military Equipment Seized in Helmand Province

Personnel of the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Helmand Provincial Police Command seized 91 firearms and a large quantity of military equipment during operations carried out over the past five months in Lashkargah City and several districts of the province.
The seized weapons and equipment include:
59 pistols, 
8 Kalashnikov rifles, 
21 shotguns, 
2 PK machine guns, 
1 rocket launcher, 
1,967 laser sights, 
4 armored shields, 
A large number of military antennas, Thousands of rounds of light and heavy ammunition, 
A considerable amount of other military equipment.
Thirty individuals were arrested in connection with the case. They were allegedly attempting to transport the weapons illegally. After the completion of their case files, they were referred to the relevant judicial and legal authorities.
