A 1,000-Bed Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Opens in Nangarhar

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Qasimi, Deputy for Civil Affairs of the Ministry of Interior’s Deputy Ministry for Counter-Narcotics; the Director of Demand Reduction; the Deputy Governor of Nangarhar; the provincial police chief; religious scholars; tribal elders; and a large number of officials and personnel.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Qasimi said that the leadership is working to strengthen and support such treatment centers so that people suffering from addiction can be rescued from this harmful phenomenon and return to a healthy life.
Meanwhile, Al-Haj Mawlawi Mohibullah Hamas, Police Chief of Nangarhar, congratulated the people of Nangarhar on the opening of the center. He said the facility has been built according to standard requirements for the treatment of addicts, with 50 large rooms, and is equipped with necessary medicines, medical equipment, and other facilities required for treatment.
