Electronic National ID Card
The Electronic National ID Card (eNID) project is a major eGov initiative started by the governemt of Afghanistan. Electronic National ID Card system will serve as one of the major pillars of e-Government in Afghanistan and scale up the efficiency of the government in providing services to citizens, paving the ground for change in the national, social and administrative environment by laying the infrastructure to extract concise, timely and relevant information.This project is jointly implemented by MoIA and MCIT.

The National Smart Card by MCIT
The National Smart Card is designed as the base for other government services which can presented electronically in the future, these services can utilize the Tazkira databases for collection of all data necessary for optimum operations, these services could include death certificate, birth certificate, driving licenses, vehicle registration, land registration, and other socio projects which will have empowering effects on the individual life of every citizen.
