Over the Past Week, 181 Armed Taliban Killed in Six Provinces


Over the past week, Afghan National Police (303rd Spin Ghar Police Zone) launched large-scale counterinsurgency joint operations codenamed Khanjar, Khyber 1, Khyber 2 and Khyber 3.

The operations carried out in Paktika, Paktiya, Khost, Ghazni, Logar, and Maidan Wardak provinces, as a result, 181 armed Taliban were killed, 44 wounded and five others were arrested.

During these operations, five AK-47 rifles, four PK machine guns, three rocket launchers, two motorcycles and 36 roadside bombs seized as well.

In the meantime, four vehicles, 23 motorcycles and some amount of ammunitions were also destroyed by joint forces.  

The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have stepped up Counter-Terrorism operations to suppress the insurgency activities of the terror groups.
