Six armed insurgents killed and arrested by Afghan National Police in Zabul and Kapisa provinces


Counterterrorism:

Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and Coalition Forces launched two joint clearance operations in the Now Bahar and Shinki Districts of Zabul province, yesterday.
 
As a result of these operations, one armed insurgent was killed and four others were arrested by Afghan National Police.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated three AK-47 assault rifles, one PKM machine gun, two radio handsets, four anti-vehicle mines and two motorbikes.

In the meantime, Afghan National Police discovered and defused 22 anti-vehicle mines as a result of security operation in the Qalat City, capital of Zabul province, yesterday.

Additionally, Afghan National Police arrested a mine planter while he attempted to plant a remote control mine in the main road of Tagab District of Kapisa province, yesterday.
